The lion is a species in the family Felidae and a member of the genus Panthera. Lions live 8m groups called pride and find a place to live for their lives. There are various sub species on lion according to their appearance.
Barbary lion

The Barbary lion was a panthera leo leo, their population in North Africa that is regionally extinct today. This population accrued in Barbary coastal regions of Megrabh from the Atlas mountain to Egypt. The only Barbaty lions left in the world are in the zoo. Barbary lion is the biggest lion of all. Its length ranging between 9.8 feet and 10.8 feet and weigh of over 200 kg.
West African lion

West African lions are a critically endangered lions with an estimated 400 remaining and strong evidence of ongoing declines. About 90% of these lions live in west Africa’s largest protect area complex. It can grow to between 9 and 10 feet long (3 meters) from head to tail, with the tail being 2 to 3 feet long (60 to 91 cm). They typically weigh between 330 to 550 pounds (150 to 250 kg)
The southwest African lion
The southwest African lion or khatanga lions (Panthers leo bleynbergi) is a subspecies that lives in South west Africa. It is found in Namiba, Zaire, Angolo, Botswana and Zambia. Fully matured adult lions are usually around 8.2 to 9.8 feet (2.5 to 3 metres) long and they weigh about 309- 534 pounds (140-242 kg)
Masai lion
Masai lion is also called as East african lion (panthero leo melanochaita). Their height would be 90- 100 cm . The maleblion weight was between 140-200 kg and their length was 140- 200 kg . The female lion weight would be 100-160 kg and their length was 2.2 – 2.7m .
Transvaal lion

The transvaal lion or the white lion is a subspecies of lion that is also k own as the south eastern lion, because they mainly live on southern part of africa . white Lions occur(red) naturally, These are not albinos but leucistic, like white tigers, they have a gene that results in light coats while retaining colour pigment in eyes, nose and feet pads. Their head to body length is 184 -208 cm (72-82 inches). Its weight upto 330 to 550 pounds.
Ethiopian lions

Ethiopian lions, known for their unusually black manes, were feared extinct until a population of around 50 were rediscovered in 2016. Because few scientists have studied these big cats, it’s unclear if they—and another group of a hundred or so lions across the border in Sudan—represent a separate subspecies.Males in Kruger National Park weighed between 200.01 and 188.55 kg (440.9 and 415.7 lb) on average, whereas females weighed between 143.52 and 118.37 kg (316.4 and 261.0 lb) on average, though there was an outbreak of tuberculosis in the park at the time. The largest known lion measured 3.35 m (11.0 ft).
Asiatic lion

The Asiatic lion is a Panthera leo leo population in India. Its current range is restricted to the Gir National Park and environs in the Indian state of Gujarat. Historically, it inhabited much of Western Asia and the Middle East up to northern India.Asiatic lions are slightly smaller than African lions. Adult males weigh 160 to 190 kg, while females weigh 110 to 120 kg. The height at the shoulders is about 3.5 ft (110 cm). The maximum recorded total length of a male Asiatic lion is 2.92m (115 inches) including the tail.
Congo lion
The Congo lion or Northeast congo lion (Panthera leo azandica), also known as Uganda lion, was proposed as a lion subspecies from northeastern D.R. Congo and western parts of Uganda.A full-grown male is about 1.8–2.1 metres (6–7 feet) long, excluding the 1-metre tail; he stands about 1.2 metres high at the shoulder and weighs 170–230 kg (370–500 pounds). The female, or lioness, is smaller, with a body length of 1.5 metres, a shoulder height of 0.9–1.1 metres, and a weight of 120–180 kg.
